DC Mayor: Contact Mayor Fenty and
ask him to work with his government agencies to submit letters
opposing this use of public space. Key points:
- The owners have no integrity – they have allowed the existing
land to be source of disorder and criminal activity in our community
- This project will over saturate our neighborhood with gas stations
- Shell can afford to buy a larger property that doesn’t require
a public subsidy of free land
- This project violates the principals laid out by the community
in the H Street Revitalization Plan
- This project violates the DC comprehensive plan
- violates the L’Enfant plan and 1870 parking act
- violates integrity of the Maryland Avenue corridor view shed
of the US Capitol
